About An Darag

Ronnie has lived and worked in the Glencoe area all his life and has been an active member of the Glencoe Mountain Rescue Team for over 30 years. He has the knowledge of the best local hill-walks and will offer advice and provide a map if required.

Glencoe is a walkers' paradise - from gentle strolls to challenging climbs for the experienced mountaineer. However, you must be properly equipped with the right footwear, waterproofs, water, food and map of the route intended. We advise climbers and walkers to leave a note of their route plan with us before setting off.

One very popular walk from the house is the Glencoe Lochan. In 1895 Lord Strathcona built Glencoe House ( now a hospital ) and created the lochan and surrounding woodland for his canadian born wife to make her feel at home. There are numerous resting places and picnic tables.

Karin has been looking after guests for many years. She keeps two horses which graze on the family croft in front of the house and enjoys taking part in endurance riding events.

We will aim to give you a thoroughly enjoyable stay at our bed and breakfast guest house, and if you need anything or require information while you are with us, you only have to ask.
